Let’s dive in. First up, head over to the Gmail website. Once you’re there, look for the create account button.
If you want to skip a step, you can go directly to the Google account creation page. Either way works. Next, you’ll be greeted with the sign up form. Start by entering your first and last name. Simple enough, right? Now it’s time to choose your username. This will be your actual email address, so pick something you’ll remember.
If your first choice is taken, don’t worry. Google will suggest some alternatives for you. Now, let’s talk about passwords. You’ll want to create a strong password. Think a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. And then, confirm that password. Trust me, security is key. All right, moving on to phone number verification, enter a valid phone number.
Google will send you a verification code via text. Once you get it, just type it in to verify your account. After that, you can add some recovery information. This part is optional, but highly recommended. Add a secondary email for account recovery. You’ll also need to enter your birth date and gender to complete this section.
Now it’s time to agree to Google’s terms of service and privacy policy. Give them a read and when you’re ready, click, I agree to proceed. Google might guide you through a few more setup steps like adding a profile picture or setting your Gmail preferences, feel free to customize your account as you wish.
And just like that, you’re all set. You’ll be redirected to your brand new Gmail dashboard. From here, you can start sending emails.
